Obituary

Beloved husband of Lang; loving father of Steven (Rowena), Tiffany and Michael; proud grandfather of Zoren; dear brother of Carol; dear uncle of Christie (Henry) and dear grand uncle of William and Emma.

Hung Co (85) passed away on September 28, 2017 after a courageous four-month battle to regain his health after undergoing several medical procedures. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam and was a merchant marine. His nautical skills helped his family and a group of Vietnamese people leave Vietnam by boat and survived a hurricane that they encountered during the voyage. After spending a year in a refugee camp in Malaysia, he and his family arrived in the United States in 1979.

He worked hard to provide for his family and worked at Solo Cup Company until he was almost 70 years old. He sacrificed much so that his children could receive opportunities that he never had. Not knowing much English, he managed to enroll his children in schools and always emphasized the importance of a good education. He encouraged his children to concentrate on their studies and “get good grades”. As a result, Steven is a graduate of the University of Illinois (Chicago), Tiffany is a graduate of Yale University and Michael is a graduate of the University of Southern California.

Hung and Lang enjoyed watching Hong Kong drama series in their spare time, traveling with their family (Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, England, France, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas), and eating good food.
