Obituary

Hanna, R. Christie, age 83, born October 29, 1930, was raised in Shorewood, Wisconsin and graduated from Marquette University and did graduate work at Loyola of Chicago. Chris was employed as a social worker for Milwaukee County and later Cook County. She spent many years working in the family real estate business, buying, renovating, and managing vintage buildings in the Lincoln Park area. Additionally, she was employed at Mid-North Financial Services, her husband’s Company. Active in cultural organizations, Chris served on the Boards of Chicago Opera Theater, Chicago Chamber Music Society, Lyric Opera Guild Board, and was a governing member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Sustaining Fellow of the Art Institute, and Honorary Member of Chicago Youth Center’s Northern Board. Chris is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Al Hanna; three children; Brock (Janine), Jeff, and Berit and grandchildren Eric, Ryan, Cassidy and Andy.
Christie will be lying in state April 10th Thursday from 9:30 am until funeral Mass following at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 690 W Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL 60657
Interment following mass at Graceland Cemetery

Dearest Albert and Family:

My thoughts and prayers are with you and am mourning with you during this difficult time . My deepest condolences . Chris was a ray of sunshine with her positive spirit, I will miss her dearly. The world is a better place for having Christie Hanna in it . May dear Chris rest in peace.
