Hello, my name is Sherri. Scotty is my childhood sweetheart. I remember when we first met. The new boy from Memphis, TN came to school. He had on a PINK shirt and white shoes and was so very handsome. That was in 6th grade. While walking home from school, he would take my ponytail and put it on top of my head. I was in love ever since that day.

Scotty cleaned houses to make money for the Prom. Of course, he asked me. I had the biggest most beautiful flower then anyone else.

When we broke up, I didn’t understand why we were parting. Gay was never a word we talked about back in the 60’s.

After I married, Scotty and I would still keep in touch. We would secretly meet around Christmas for dinner and a shopping spree. Usually for his mother’s gift. Then we would part our separate ways.

I am now 65 years old, and we still kept in touch. After all these years, my heart would still flutter at the sound of his name. I always loved Scotty then and now. There will always be a special place in my heart for him. He will be missed.

Scott was always a gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. He was also an extremely talented designer. We served together on ASID committees over the years where his kind manner and inspirations made it fun. My condolences to his partner and family.
